About Blues Box...the band:

PETER, a Dutch citizen is established for long in Switzerland. He started the guitar when he was 14, and became quickly influenced in the 60's by instrumental groups like The Shadows and The Ventures. He switched then from jazz to a more popular guitar sound and joined The Rangers a Dutch guitar band. Later on, when studying in the US, he played in various college bands, and ultimately became heavily influenced by Chuck Berry, J. Hendrix, and E. Clapton. Many years later, he discovered the Blues by listening to Robert Johnson, and jamming with a Canadian guitar slinger and blues singer. In 2007, he went on to co-found the Blues Box trio, featuring as singer and manning the guitar. He is also currently dedicated to his music, playing and performing with Blues Box. He is also establishing himself as a guitar coach with a methodology for guitar teaching aimed at beginners and more advanced. LAURENT is a jazz and blues harmonicist from Geneva. He started playing chromatic harmonica at the age of 17, encouraged by his friend Ohad Talmor, Saxophonist, Composer and Arranger. He developped his own technic as an autodidact and performed jazz, funk, and R&B in concerts and jam sessions mainly in Switzerland as well as in Europe and in the US. His main influences go from Miles Davis, Stan Getz, Sonny Rollins, to Toots Thielemanns and Stevie Wonder. He later discovered Blues listening to Muddy Waters, E. Clapton, and harp players such as Sugar Blue, James Cotton, Kim Wilson, Mark Hummel and J.-J. Milteau. Since 2007, with the Blues Box band, Laurent plays regularly blues as well as jazz and rock repertoire. JEAN-FRANCOIS "bearfoot", a French and Swiss citizen was magically appealed as a teenager by british and american rock bands, and strongly influenced from blues singers. He steadily practiced listening to his beloved art of music during many stays in England and the US. Very quickly Jean-François was fascinated by drumming as well for the groove feeling, as for the instrument itself. As an autodidact, he usually customizes, or restores, his own sets. He played in various blues and blues-rock band in France and Switzerland since his twenties. Co-founder of the Blues Box band, he found with Laurent and Peter two groovy pals, with whom he was also comforted in playing jazz tunes.
